OXNARD — The Channel Islands Business Park will soon be owned by a realty company in Los Angeles County.
The Oxnard City Council unanimously approved acquisition and development of the 75-acre park by the Culver City-based realty firm Goldrich and Kest in hopes of increasing business development in south Oxnard.
A company representative said the firm hopes to bring light manufacturing companies into the Oxnard area.
“A lot of businesses are moving out of L.A. to move to less congested and family oriented areas,” said Evan Roklen, planning and development manager for Goldrich and Kest. “We think it is a very desirable area.”
Roklen said his company hopes by next month to finalize the sale for the Oxnard business park, which was taken over by Wells Fargo Bank after the previous owner gave up its stake in the property to avoid foreclosure. Roklen would not reveal the property’s purchase price.
