Richey Electronics Inc.: The Garden Grove electronic components distributor posted second quarter net income of $1.7 million, or 18 cents a share, 91% higher than the $909,000, or 11 cents a share, for the like period last year. Sales more than doubled to $58.2 million from $28.3 million.

For the first six months of 1996, net income surged 81% to $2.9 million, or 31 cents a share, from $1.6 million, or 23 cents a share, a year ago. Sales increased to $116.6 million from $54.9 million.
