Artists with a lot to show but only a little dough can now get help at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
Thanks to a $25,000 grant from biotechnology giant Amgen, the nonprofit Civic Arts Plaza Foundation and the Alliance for the Arts, the center’s fund-raising arm, are offering grants to performers and visual arts groups.
Those who are interested in grants to help underwrite their productions are being encouraged to apply to the city’s Theatres Department by Aug. 16.
Amgen continues to be a major contributor to the Charles E. Probst Center for the Performing Arts. The company donated $25,000 this year to support performances by area artists at the Civic Arts Plaza.
For more information, call the Theatres Department at 449-2700.
