Man Kills His Wife, Then Himself
PALMDALE — A man killed his wife and then shot himself Thursday in an apparent murder-suicide, authorities said.
The bodies of Miguel Penna, 50, and his wife, Silvia, 46, were found by their son who went to the house after his parents did not answer the telephone, said Benita Nichol, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The murder-suicide occurred at about 11 a.m., Nichol said.
The bodies were found in the family room of the couple’s house in the 3000 block of Paxton Avenue, she said.
Sheriff’s investigators determined the deaths were a murder-suicide partly because they were told by people who knew the Pennas that the couple had been quarreling, said Richard Dinsmoor, another spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department.
No other information was available, Dinsmoor said.
