Children interested in acting are invited to join the 11th annual Summer Theater Workshop for Youth at Cal Lutheran University this month.
The workshops are designed to teach children ages 9 to 16 to explore acting, improvisation, voice and movement techniques used in performing, said Ken Gardner, an assistant professor of drama and director of the university’s children’s theater program.
About 10 seats for a beginner’s workshop for ages 9 to 14 remain open. In the workshop, which runs from Monday to July 26, children will write and perform their own play.
The class will meet Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until noon. Each workshop costs $165.
