BITING THE BULLET

I applaud the efforts of Texas television station KVUE in reducing the mindless emphasis on crime stories (“Where Crime Does Not Play,� by Howard Rosenberg, June 23).

Since local TV news is not moving ethically in a direction which I approve as a consumer, I have found alternative sources. By reading the newspaper, listening to KNX-AM, catching Bloomberg’s news on USA cable and accessing wire service reports via CompuServe, I am quite well informed.
