Canadian Vows to Appeal Drug Ban

Canadian equestrian Eric Lamaze did not willingly take cocaine and will appeal his suspension from the Olympic team, his attorney said in Toronto.
“There will definitely be an appeal,” said Tim Danson, who added that Lamaze “absolutely did not take cocaine.”
Lamaze, 28, tested positive on June 5 and faces a four-year ban from competition.
Meanwhile, Basil Collett, executive director of the Canadian Equestrian Federation, said a substitute for Lamaze on the Olympic show jumping team would probably be decided Monday.
