The Atlanta Braves, looking for outfield help since the loss of David Justice, reached an agreement with recently released Mark Whiten.
Whiten, 29, cut by the Philadelphia Phillies last Friday, was batting .236 with seven home runs and 21 RBIs.
The defending World Series champions have been using a platoon of rookie Jermaine Dye and Dwight Smith in right field since Justice suffered a shoulder injury May 15.
