50 freestyle, 100 freestyle
Irvine, Sr.
O’Brien, who will be attending California this fall, was a double winner at Division I and II finals three consecutive years. Her winning time in the 50 (23.66) and 100 free (51.58) were the fastest times in the county this season.
KATIE LOWES
200 freestyle
El Toro, Sr.
Lowes finished her high school career by finishing second at the Southern Section Division I finals in a county-best time of 1:52.17.
CARLY COX
500 freestyle
Capistrano Valley, Sr.
Cox could not challenge nationally ranked Rebecca Gilman of Ventura Buena but still turned in a 5:01.37 to take fifth at Division I finals.
AMANDA BEARD
200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke
Irvine, Fr.
Though Beard is known for her breaststroke, she also excelled in the individual medley, finishing third at Division I finals in a county-best 2:04.56. Her 100 breaststroke victory in 1:01.79 set a division record.
MEGHAN CASILLAN
100 backstroke
Huntington Beach, So.
Casillan came on strong near the end of the season and finished third at the Division I finals with a county-best time of 58.08.
JESSAMYN MILLER
100 butterfly
Mater Dei, So.
A top breaststroker, Miller also proved formidable in the butterfly, taking third at Division I finals in 57.98 and posting the county’s fastest time.
KRISTEN MARQUIS
Diving
Santa Margarita, Fr.
One of the top age-group divers in the nation, Marquis had little trouble winning her first Division I diving championship with 509.30 points.
SCOTT HINMAN
Coach of the Year
Irvine
With his team finishing second at Division I finals, Hinman was able to pull strong performances from a young team that included Amanda Beard.
200 freestyle relay
Mission Viejo
After a slow start, the Diablos came on hard at Division I finals to edge Fountain Valley and win in 1:41.42.
400 freestyle relay
Irvine
Despite having an Olympian and the fastest freestyle sprinter in the county on the team, Irvine finished second to Ventura Buena at Division I finals in 3:36.07.
200 medley relay
El Toro
El Toro was nipped by Ventura Buena and took second in 1:48.14 at Division I finals. The Chargers finished 0.08 behind Buena.

Best time: 24.70. Lam finished second behind Wendy O’Brien at Division I finals.

Best time: 58.58. Her prelim time was a shade faster than her final time at Division I finals.

Best time: 1:02.74. At the Foothill Games, she recorded the county’s second-fastest time.

Best time: 58.48. Finished fourth at Division I finals.

Fountain Valley, Jr.
Best time: 2:07.32. Dotts finished sixth at Division I finals.

Best time: 1:41.69. VinessaTjoa (Sr.), Lindsay Ortega (Jr.), Jennifer McCoy (So.) and Grace Wang (Sr.). Finished just a few tenths behind first-place Mission Viejo at Division I finals.

El Toro
Best time: 3:37.18. Ashley Pyka (Fr.), Lara Reaves (Fr.), Katie Simmons (Sr.) and Katie Lowes (Sr.). With two freshmen and two seniors, they finished fourth at Division I finals.

Best time: 1:49.82. Amy Aldinger (Jr.), Amanda Beard (Fr.), Heidi Kraus (Fr.) and Wendy O’Brien (Sr.). Finished third behind El Toro at Division I finals.

Score: 468.60. Fleming just edged J.P. Palmer of Chino Hills Ayala to win Division II title.
