Planning Director to Start Work June 17
Moorpark, the fastest growing city in the county during the 1980s, has hired a new planning director to help guide the city into the 21st century.
The city hired Nelson Miller, a former top planner in Murietta, Apple Valley and Lake Elsinore. Miller will start June 17, just as the 3,221-home Hidden Creek Ranch development being proposed by the Messenger Investment Corp. of Irvine is set to again come back to the city’s Planning Commission for review.
Miller is replacing Jaime “Jim†Aguilera, who served as director of the city’s Community Development Department for 2 1/2 years before leaving earlier this year. The position pays about $70,000 a year.
Miller, a graduate of Pomona College, is a registered planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners. He is married and has two children.
