2 Men Arrested in Home Break-In
An Oxnard man remained in jail Friday after police arrested him and an alleged accomplice on suspicion of burglarizing a Port Hueneme home.
Frank Granados, 18, is in jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, but Cesar Cruz, 31, posted bail in the afternoon, authorities said.
The men are accused of breaking into a home on the 200 block of West Hemlock Street about 7:45 p.m. Thursday and stealing an air compressor, a bike, tools and fishing equipment, police said.
James Birdsong told police he heard someone breaking into his garage. He looked outside and saw two men putting items from his garage into their pickup.
Police spotted the suspects minutes later heading toward Oxnard. The men were arrested and the property, worth an estimated $2,000, was recovered, police said.
Both suspects are on probation, and Granados was out on bail on drug charges, police said.
