Man Gets 65 Days for Threatening Daughter
A 40-year-old Panorama City man has been sentenced to 65 days in jail and ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings after pleading no contest to threatening to kill his 11-year-old daughter at a family Christmas gathering, prosecutors said Monday.
As his jury trial was about to start late Friday, Frank Hiram Hernandez entered his plea before Van Nuys Municipal Judge Michael Knight, Deputy City Atty. Deborah Breithaup said.
Hernandez was arrested early Christmas morning after his wife called police as he wielded a screwdriver and drunkenly threatened to kill his daughter, Breithaup said.
After Hernandez was arrested by LAPD officers, Hernandez continued to threaten his daughter’s life, Breithaup added.
