Osborne Throws Shutouts for Fullerton

Christy Osborne threw consecutive shutouts to lead Fullerton into the semifinals of the state community college softball playoffs Saturday in Fremont.
Osborne (22-3) threw a two-hitter in the Hornets’ 7-0 victory over Cypress and followed with a three-hitter in a 2-0 victory over Solano. Christy Bonwell doubled, singled and scored two runs. Osborne was two for four with two runs batted in against Cypress.
Fullerton (38-11) will play top-ranked Palomar, which defeated the Hornets last Friday, in a semifinal game at 10 a.m. today. The winner plays Sacramento City in the finals at noon.
