Clinton’s Mother
* Thank you for printing President Clinton’s column on Mother’s Day (May 12). His love and respect for his mom are heartwarming. For the president to be so personal and open and loving about his mother is a true measure of this man.
I don’t believe the president can fake his real feelings for his mother, and his own family. I concede that he and Hillary have had some rocky points in their marriage, but unlike Sen. Bob Dole and several other Republicans who spout off on “character,†he stayed married, and they have raised an incredible child. Whatever the problems in the marriage, the Clintons have never lost sight of their duty and obligation to raise their child in the best way possible. Now, that’s what I call devotion to family values.
