In other Division II matches:
Aliso Niguel 13, Servite 5--Chris Kan swept in singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for visiting Aliso Niguel (16-3), which will play Garden Grove in the second round. Ryan Moore and Peter Lim swept in doubles, 6-4, 6-0, 6-1, for Servite (12-7).
Glendale 13, Villa Park 5--B.K. Cheng won two of three singles sets for host Villa Park (18-2), ranked ninth in the division. Glendale is 19-1.
Loara 10, Arcadia 8--Bryan Hollenbeck swept in singles for host Loara (18-3), the Empire League co-champions who advanced to play University.
Sunny Hills 16, Laguna Hills 2--Senior John Han lost only one game at No. 1 singles, sweeping, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for Sunny Hills (14-4). The Lancers will play La Verne Damian in the next round.
University 16, La Quinta 2--Jon Biorkman swept in singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for host University (13-2).
In Division I:
Corona del Mar 13, Esperanza 5--John Cappello swept at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-1, 6-2, for third-seeded Corona del Mar (17-2). Dana Hills 12, Santa Margarita 6--Brian Kent swept in singles, 7-5, 6-4, 6-3, for host Dana Hills (19-2), which will play the Goleta Dos Pueblos-Westlake Village Westlake winner.
Edison 10, San Clemente 8--Beau Kojima swept in singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-1, for host Edison (11-4).
Mission Viejo 16, Long Beach Poly 2--Sophomore Eric Bachelor improved to 54-3 this season, sweeping in singles, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, for host Mission Viejo (15-5), which will play fourth-seeded Beverly Hills in the second round.
Woodbridge 18, Chino Hills Ayala 0--Chase Exon swept in singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for host Woodbridge (17-4), which will play Los Alamitos in the second round.
In Division III:
Brea Olinda 16, San Gabriel 2--Ben Springer and Scott Koller swept in singles for Brea Olinda (22-1-1).
