Ocean View’s Barrett Quits as Baseball Coach

Steve Barrett has resigned as Ocean View baseball coach after eight seasons.

Barrett, who turned in his resignation to school officials last week, guided Ocean View to a 12-14 record this season. The Seahawks were 8-7 in the Golden West League and tied Westminster for third place but did not make the playoffs.

Barrett’s teams won Sunset League titles in 1990 and 1991 and made the playoffs four times. His overall record was 133-83.
