Griswold, runner-up in the 100 and 200 meters at the Orange County Championships last year, won both events Saturday--and added two more titles, in the 400 meters and 400 relay. He won the 100 in 10.6 seconds, the 200 in a meet-record 21.49. On the anchor leg of the relay, he made up about 20 yards and won in a photo finish. In the 400, only the third open 400 he has run, he broke the meet record by 0.44 seconds, finishing in 48.09. “I thought he ran a perfect race,†Coach Mark Mariola said.
Baseball
Paul Caffrey
* Heritage Christian, sophomore. Drove in seven runs in two victories, giving him a county-record 47 runs batted in this season.
Swimming
Steve Ronson
* Irvine, senior. Broke 16-year-old meet record in 100-yard breaststroke at Foothill Swim Games, winning a preliminary in 57.17 seconds. Won the final in 57.39 and the 200 individual medley in 1:57.79.
Track and field
Elliott Parks
* El Toro, junior. Won long jump at Orange County Championships in meet-record 22 feet 8 3/4 inches, finished second in the high jump (6-10) and third in the triple jump (42-11 1/2), leading El Toro to title.
Volleyball
David McKienzie
* Huntington Beach, junior. Had 26 kills to lead the third-ranked Oilers to a five-game victory over No. 2 Esperanza.
