Titan Losses Jumble One Poll
Cal State Fullerton remained No. 1 in Baseball America’s poll, but fell to second in Collegiate Baseball’s rankings after losing two of three games to San Jose State last weekend.
The losses dropped the Titans (38-6) into a tie for first place in the Big West Conference race with Long Beach State, each with 11-4 records. The teams open a three-game series Friday at Blair Field.
Wichita State (32-6) was ranked No. 1 by Collegiate Baseball and sixth by Baseball America. Long Beach State (28-17) was 25th in both polls.

The Piranhas of the Arena Football League trimmed their roster to 24 Monday by releasing four players and putting two on injured reserve.
The Piranhas cut former Whittier Christian and Fresno State linebacker Ron Papazian, wide receiver/defensive back Lance Thomas of Fresno State and lineman Tim Siaka and receiver Anthony Rodgers of Cal State Northridge.
Fullback/linebacker Ivy Calvin of Northridge and lineman Gerald Owens of Florida State were placed on injured reserve.
Each AFL team carries 20 players on its active roster and four more on an inactive roster.
The Piranhas open their season at 7:30 p.m. Friday in San Jose against the SaberCats.
