Library Contractor May Face $1,025 Fine
The contractor of an addition to the Moorpark Library may be penalized $1,025 for failing to notify Ventura County that the plumbing subcontractor listed on the bid was replaced.
A public hearing will be held at 10 a.m. today by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors.
RCO Construction of Encino was awarded a $279,849 contract in October to build the 2,717-square-foot addition to the Moorpark Library.
Instead of having Caspian Plumbing perform the plumbing work as specified on the contract, Loris Plumbing did the work.
State law says that changing subcontractors on a government project must be approved by the government agency.
County officials said the plumbing work has been completed and is not a problem.
