Tower Air

I absolutely must write to thank Christopher Reynolds for putting me onto Tower Air in his Travel Insider column (“Nine Little-Known Airlines With Get-Acquainted Fares,” March 17).
I’ve been planning a summer vacation in New England--my first visit to my home county in 45 years. I’m 70. Delta and American quoted me $865 because I was staying more than 29 days, although I don’t understand why that has anything to do with the fare! I called Tower Air and was quoted $151 one way or $365 round trip, no restriction.
I wish I’d known about Tower a few years ago. I had flown to London one way because I was not sure when I’d be returning. However, while visiting friends in Lisbon I learned that my daughter had been in a horrific car crash in California. British Airways and TWA both quoted me $910 round trip or $1,010 one way to LAX. There wasn’t time to return to Paris to find a consolidator. I had to pay then, but from now on, it’s Tower Air for me.
