Laker Stars Going Bump in the Night

Nick Van Exel’s lack of contrition and remorse for shoving referee Ron Garretson as well as his woeful attempt at denial for doing so are not only symptomatic of NBA players for their actions on and off the court (i.e. [Dennis] Rodman, [Cedric] Ceballos) but also of our society in general. It’s not often we see people accept responsibility for their inappropriate actions anymore. Instead, blaming others and blatant denial have replaced, “It’s my fault. I’m sorry.”

I have watched the Van Exel film a dozen times and Ron Garretson looks like he’s a candidate for Wrestlemania. Nick touches him with his left forearm and Garretson jumps up and sprawls on the scorer’s table.
What a performance! Ron should get an Oscar.
