Anna Silver; Dressmaker to the Stars and Their Families

Anna Silver, 91, dressmaker to the stars for more than six decades. Born Anna Nachama Slepp in Dvinsk, Latvia, she moved in 1923 to New York, where she was apprenticed to a seamstress. After she married Nathan Silver, the couple moved to Los Angeles, where she set up a sewing room in her Hollywood area kitchen. She befriended and tailored clothes for the families of such stars as Frank Sinatra, Bob Newhart, Buddy Hackett, Mel Torme, Jack Lemmon and Felicia Farr, Ricardo Montalban and Carl Reiner. On Sunday in Las Vegas.
