New York Yankee second baseman Pat Kelly, sidelined since the start of the season, will undergo exploratory surgery today on his ailing right shoulder. . . . Infielder Luis Lopez was activated by the San Diego Padres, who made room on the roster by putting outfielder Chris Gwynn on the 15-day disabled list because of a muscle sprain in his back.
