South Bay : NEW MAYOR

El Segundo native Sandra Jacobs is the city’s new mayor after a 3-2 vote Tuesday by the City Council.
She succeeds former Mayor Carl Jacobson who served on the City Council for 12 years and as mayor during the last eight, said City Clerk Cindy Mortesen.
Jacobson, who held the position longer than any other mayor, did not seek reelection.
Jacobs has served two terms as president of the local Chamber of Commerce and has worked on the Economic Development Committee since its formation five years ago. She is the former president of the El Segundo Library Board of Trustees.
