Owners of small businesses destroyed or damaged in the 1992 riots can apply for low-interest, five-year loans from the Brotherhood Business Development & Capital Fund Program. With $2 million in federal funds, the nonprofit corporation will disperse loans from $10,000 to $100,000 for any community-based business that was operating at the time of the riots in the 7800 block of South Central Avenue, the 1400 block of West Florence Avenue and the 5300 block of South Vermont Avenue, as well as the Leimert Park district and surrounding areas.
