County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky made a new appointment to the Civil Service Commission and reappointed a familiar face to the Commission on Aging.
Yaroslavsky appointed Studio City resident Marcus Allen to the five-member Civil Service Commission, which hears appeals to job discrimination allegations, wrongful termination and other employment issues.
The supervisor also reappointed Ida Kinney of San Fernando to the Commission on Aging.
“I am pleased to welcome Marcus,” Yaroslavsky said. “As an experienced analyst he brings a breadth and depth of understanding that will serve us well in these often complex cases.”
Allen formerly served as Yaroslavsky’s budget deputy and as an analyst for the White House Office of Management and Budget. He was also a legislative analyst for the Los Angeles City Council.
Kinney continues on the 45-member aging commission. She has more than 20 years of experience working with San Fernando Valley senior organizations. She is also a member of the Greater Community Baptist Church in Pacoima and the NAACP.
