With the score tied, Rose pushed umpire Dave Pallone twice after Pallone was slow in making a call at first base in a game against the New York Mets. President Bart Giamatti of the National League suspended Rose--the longest ban of a manager in 41 years. The Reds eventually lost, 6-5.

Tom Lysiak--center, Chicago Black Hawks

Lysiak was suspended for tripping linesman Ron Foyt after the linesman had removed Lysiak from the faceoff circle several times for dropping his stick before the puck was dropped. Later, in the second period, Lysiak skated around and tripped Foyt from behind after Foyt dropped the puck.

Jackson struck head linesman Bob McLaughlin in the first quarter of a 16-0 loss to the New England Patriots. Jackson struck McLaughlin in the eye, which “stunned him” and caused the officiating crew to work short-handed for seven plays.
