Gas Prices Rise as Holidays Near

Travelers who plan to spend part of the Easter/Passover holiday period on the road will find gasoline prices up more than a nickel from a month ago and a notch higher over last year’s spring holiday period, according to the American Automobile Assn. The AAA’s monthly Fuel Gauge Survey found the price of a gallon of regular unleaded, self-serve gasoline averages $1.18, up 5.1 cents in one month and 5.2 cents more than last year’s Easter and Passover holiday prices. Self-serve regular unleaded is most expensive in the West at $1.25 per gallon and least expensive in the Southeast at $1.12 a gallon.
