Oscar Will Help Raise Funds for O.C. Charities
Forty miles south of Hollywood’s air-kissing glitterati, photo-snapping paparazzi and celebrity-spotting commoners, people in Orange County will be celebrating the 68th annual Academy Awards Monday at parties that benefit local charities.
The Southern California Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation stages its fourth annual Hooray for Hollywood Academy Awards party at Antonello Ristorante in Santa Ana. At $150 per person, the black-tie-optional fund-raiser hopes to raise $40,000.
The event will feature an elegant sit-down dinner and viewing of the award’s live broadcast on television monitors. Prizes will be given out to guests who correctly pick the winners.

The Orange County Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. offers its Academy Awards Celebration at Planet Hollywood in Santa Ana. The $50-per-person event includes buffet dining, dancing to a live band and giant-screen viewing. (714) 846-5004.
