* Sharon Edwards has been appointed marketing officer at Channel Islands National Bank, which has its headquarters in Oxnard. Edwards has been with CINB for more than 10 years, most recently as head of the human resource department.
She opened both the Financial Plaza and Camarillo offices for CINB and was promoted to assistant vice president in 1988.
* Drek A. Newton of Port Hueneme has been named Naval Facilities Engineering Command Engineer of the Year for 1996. This award distinguishes him as one of 29 federal professionals cited as the top engineers for their respective agencies by the National Society of Professional Engineers’ practice division, Professional Engineers in Government.
Newton is employed in the Clean Air Branch at the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center.
* Sonia Robles has returned to Questemps Employment Services in the Oxnard Financial Plaza as its operations manager.
Robles worked previously as a personnel coordinator for Questemps from 1992 to 1994. From 1994 until her return to Questemps, Robles served as a branch manager for a nationwide temporary employment service.
* Kenneth A. McKee has been hired as a senior engineer for Ventura-based IPC Systems Engineering. He will be responsible for engineering and mechanical process systems, including paper mill and water treatment systems.
McKee has been a project engineer for Procter & Gamble Co., the James River Corp. and other manufacturing companies.
* Jim Thompson, a regional manager of Quality Mortgage Group, has been named the manager of On-Line Mortgage, a joint venture between Quality Mortgage and Herrick & Co. Realtors.
On-Line Mortgage provides in-house lending services for more than 40 Herrick agents. Thompson has been a mortgage broker for 12 years and was co-owner of Allen/Thompson Financial Services for eight years.
* Judy H. Winzer has been named vice president, business development, with TransWorld Bank in Sherman Oaks.
Winzer previously was with Bank of A. Levy, and she has worked in the banking industry for 18 years.
TransWorld Bank has 11 offices in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
* Albhy Galuten was named vice president of interactive programming at MCA Music Entertainment Group, part of MCA Inc. of Universal City.
Previously, Galuten was vice president of technology at Ion.
