The Master’s Rules Claflin in First Round

Mike Penberthy scored 30 points, including eight three-point baskets in 13 attempts, to lead The Master’s past Claflin, S.C., 72-64, Wednesday in the opening round of the NAIA tournament at Tulsa, Okla.
The No. 3-seed Mustangs (28-6) advanced to play today against Oklahoma City (28-6), a 94-58 winner of St. Xavier, Ill.
Leo Gorauskas had 19 points and 10 rebounds and James Mosley had 14 points and a game-high 16 rebounds for The Master’s.
Ronnie Morant led Claflin (18-12) with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Birmingham-Southern 88, Westmont 75--Bo Coln and James Cason guided Birmingham-Southern (23-4) to a victory over Westmont (19-13) at Tulsa.
Coln scored 25 points and Cason 20 for the Panthers. Eddie Walter had 18 for Birmingham-Southern, the defending NAIA Tournament champions.
