Showtime Original Picture for Kids presents Heck’s Way Home (Sunday, 8 p.m.), about a dog named Heck that is separated from his family during a move. So what’s a loyal family pooch to do? What Heck does to reunite with his family is one of those great “dog-tracks-family-cross country†stories. For the whole family.

TBS takes an in-depth look at Tinseltown’s animal superstars in Hollywood’s Amazing Animal Actors, a two-hour special (Tuesday, 5:05 p.m.)

Animal actors playing Lassie, Flipper and Rin Tin Tin tell their stories through their human co-stars--including June Lockhart (“Lassieâ€) and Donald O’Connor (“Francis the Talking Muleâ€)--and the men and women who train them.

To promote this program, the network is devoting the day to presenting other comedy shows with episodes involving animals--from “The Jetsons†to “America’s Funniest Home Videos.†For ages 12 and up.

Daffy Duck inherits a fortune and sets up a “ghostbusting†service with Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig in this 1989 cartoon movie comedy, Daffy Duck’s Quackbusters (Wednesday, 3:30 p.m. Family Channel). For ages 2 and up.

Both a son and a mother get an education when she returns to high school for her diploma in Educating Mom, an “ABC Afterschool Special†(Thursday, 3 p.m.) Nancy, who was forced to leave school when she became pregnant at 16, returns 16 years later. But to her son Jason’s dismay, she is returning to his high school. For ages 14 and up.

The new ABC sitcom Aliens in the Family, from Jim Henson Productions Inc., makes its premiere (Friday, 9 p.m.) as a hybrid “Brady Bunch†meets “3rd Rock From the Sun.†Here’s the story of a single dad bringing up two kids when he’s abducted by a spacecraft and falls in love with a very lovely extraterrestrial mom, who’s raising three kids of her own. They return to Earth to raise their bunch and sitcom antics ensue. For ages 9 and up.
