Ornda Buys Centinela Hospital: Nashville-based Ornda Healthcorp has acquired the Inglewood-based medical center and related businesses for an undisclosed sum. Centinela Hospital Medical Center is a 400-bed not-for-profit facility known as the “official hospital” of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings. The purchase also includes eight primary-care medical clinics, Centinela Hospital Airport Medical Clinic, a Culver City fitness institute and medical group. Ornda is a for-profit 48-hospital chain with 16 hospitals in Los Angeles and Orange counties. Ornda said proceeds of the deal would be used to continue charitable activities of the Centinela Hospital Foundation. The transaction is subject to approval by the state attorney general’s office.
