Celebrities Set for ‘African Pride’s’ Fest

Tia and Tamera Mowry (“Sister, Sister”), Kim Fields (“Living Single”), Tisha Campbell (“Martin”) and Sherman Hemsley (“Amen”) are among the celebrities, authors, illustrators and storytellers scheduled to appear at “African Pride’s Children’s Book Festival” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 9 at the Magic Johnson Theatres at 4020 Marlton Ave. and at Baldwin Crenshaw Plaza’s Bradley Court.
The festival, which repeats from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 10 at Bradley Court, will feature thousands of books by and about African Americans. Profits will be donated to the Birthing Project, which focuses on decreasing infant deaths through prenatal care, education and support systems for new mothers. Information: (800) 522-5543, Ext. 171.
