Sequin Lifts Ocean View Over Servite, 62-57
In a one-game playoff for third place in the Golden West League, Ocean View got a game-high 16 points from Mike Sequin and defeated Servite, 62-57, Saturday at Fountain Valley High.
With the victory, the Seahawks (12-15) earned the league’s final automatic berth into the Southern Section playoffs.
In Golden West League boys’ soccer:
Westminster 1, Servite 0--Chris Brewer scored in the second half to lift Westminster (14-9-2) in the first game of a three-team playoff for second and third place in the Golden West League. Westminster advanced to the Southern Section playoffs with the victory.
Saddleback 2, Servite 0--Saddleback defeated Servite in the elimination game to earn the league’s final playoff berth. A coin toss determined that Saddleback will second-seeded and Westminster will be third-seeded.
