Man Fatally Shot; Gunman Flees
NORTH HILLS — A North Hills man was killed Saturday morning by a man who got out of a car and shot him, police said.
Adolfo Nunez, 22, was standing on the sidewalk in the 15800 block of Gresham Street at about 10:20 a.m. when a light-colored car pulled up, said Det. Mike Oppelt with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Devonshire station.
A passenger in the car had a conversation with Nunez, then got out of the car, and fired several shots at the victim, Oppelt said. The gunman escaped by running between apartment buildings toward Acre Street, the detective said.
Nunez ran into an alley behind an apartment building, police said, then collapsed and died. Detectives said they do not know the motive for the shooting.
