Service Set for John Walton Caughey
A memorial service for California historian John Walton Caughey is scheduled for 5 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Sequoia Room of the UCLA Faculty Center. The center is accessible from the Westwood campus entrance at Hilgard and Westholme avenues.
Caughey, with the help of his late wife, LaRee, wrote more than two dozen textbooks about California that became popular with mainstream readers. A history professor at UCLA for 40 years, Caughey died Dec. 16 in Lexington, Mass., at age 93.
