4 Sought After Main Street Stabbing
Ventura police are searching for four men believed to be responsible for an attempted murder early Friday.
Investigators said Paul Dupree, a 39-year-old Ventura man, suffered multiple stab wounds to his back about 3 a.m. outside a Main Street doughnut shop. Police found Dupree lying on the ground outside Avenue Donuts in the Mission Plaza shopping center at Main Street and Ventura Avenue.
Because of the victim’s wounds and his state of intoxication, Dupree was unable to provide investigators with detailed descriptions of the suspects, police said.
The victim was transported to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition late Friday, hospital officials said.
