North Hollywood : Man Who Died in Car Crash Is Identified
Los Angeles police on Friday identified the 39-year-old man who died in a freak car accident in North Hollywood earlier this week as Henry Diaz of Lake View Terrace.
Diaz died of a heart attack after the car he was riding in was hit head-on on Lankershim Boulevard near Cantara Street about 6 p.m. Thursday, police said.
Sandra Serrano, 31, of Sylmar was driving north on Lankershim Boulevard when she had a possible seizure and lost control of her car, hitting a pole and a fire hydrant before slamming head-on into the car in which Diaz was a passenger, said Officer Jim Thompson.
Serrano was treated for minor injuries at North Hollywood Medical Center and released, police said.
Police said the 17-year-old driver of Diaz’s car and another passenger, a 4-year-old boy, were airlifted to Los Angeles Childrens Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Everyone was wearing seat belts, police said.
