Tuiolosega Sets Mark in Victory

Jennifer Tuiolosega had six three-point baskets to break an Ocean View school record as the eighth-ranked Seahawks beat Tustin, 78-38, in a Golden West League game Tuesday.

Tuiolosega scored a career-high 32 points, and broke the three-point record set by Tricia Lindquist, who had five in a game in 1993.

Becky Fraser had 13 points for Ocean View (16-7, 6-1).

Janna Needham led Tustin (10-13, 2-5) with 12 points.

In another Golden West League game:

Rosary 75, Santa Ana 24--Lauren Murphy had 18 points and six assists for Rosary (12-10, 5-2). Jen Shirley added 14 points.

In the Academy League:

Capistrano Valley Christian 58, Fairmont 31--Hayley Hall scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds for visiting Capistrano Valley Christian (12-9, 5-3). Anchal Siagal scored 15 points for Fairmont (5-11, 1-6).

Liberty Christian 58, Orangewood Academy 38--Heather Hill scored 15 of her 22 points in the first half as Liberty Christian (14-7, 5-2) took a 37-16 halftime lead.

St. Margaret’s 48, Connelly 35--Jean Freeman had 18 points and 13 rebounds for visiting St. Margaret’s (14-4, 8-0).

In the Century League:

Canyon 52, Santa Ana Valley 24--Meghan O’Neill scored 23 points and Paulette Seamann scored 10 and had 12 rebounds for Canyon (12-11, 4-3).

Villa Park 57, Orange 25--The Spartans (12-9, 6-1) were led by Mary Jo Pennington with 14 points and nine rebounds. Reserve player Jessica Sammons had seven points, 10 rebounds and four steals.

In the Empire League:

Century 48, Loara 38--Aprile Powell had 21 points and Allison Napier had 15 for visiting Century (19-2, 7-0).

El Dorado 53, Kennedy 29--Heather Cunningham scored 13 points for visiting El Dorado (16-5, 6-1).

Katella 55, Cypress 54--Naomi Morales scored with eight seconds remaining to give Katella (10-11, 3-4) a 55-52 lead. Going for the tie, Lindsay Weaver (10 points) made a shot at the buzzer for Cypress (9-13, 1-6), but officials ruled it a two-point shot because her foot was on the three-point arc.

In the Express League:

Heritage Christian 32, Rolling Hills Prep 21--Bekah Ramirez scored 11 points for visiting Heritage Christian (9-10, 7-4).

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 42, Buena Park 31--Erin Allard scored 17 points for host La Habra (10-9, 6-1), which led, 33-24, after three quarters. Kate Ragins scored 13 points for Buena Park (2-18, 0-7).

Sonora 58, Sunny Hills 39--Aiyana Nash scored 22 points and had seven assists and seven steals for Sonora (16-5, 6-1). Teammate Sarah Fister added 10 points and 15 rebounds.

In the Olympic League:

Brethren Christian 53, Ontario Christian 39--LaCoya Cole scored 14 points and Cindy Oparah added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Brethren Christian (14-7, 6-1), ranked fourth in Division IV A.

Calvary Chapel 62, Whittier Christian 37--Christy Ring had 26 points and eight steals for visiting Calvary Chapel (10-9, 4-3).

Cerritos Valley Christian 87, Orange Lutheran 46--Cerritos Valley Christian (21-0, 7-0) had three players with 19 or more points, led by Kiyoko Miller with 29.

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 90, Valencia 43--Jennifer Saari had 11 points, nine assists and four steals for host Brea Olinda (19-3, 7-0), the third-ranked team in the county.

Magnolia 63, Savanna 51--Stacy Tewell had 19 points and 14 rebounds and forward Andrea Picchi had 12 for Magnolia (14-7, 6-1).

Western 56, Anaheim 33--Adrienne Ratajczak, Mahivic Echenique and Corina Hensen all scored 12 points for Western (12-11, 3-4).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Costa Mesa 62, Aliso Niguel 32--Koo Kim had three three-point baskets and finished with 17 points for Costa Mesa (12-11, 3-4).

Laguna Hills 51, Estancia 27--Tamara Inoue scored 14 points for sixth-ranked Laguna Hills (19-2, 7-0), which outscored Estancia, 20-6, in the third quarter to take a 19-point lead. Estancia (18-4, 4-3) is ranked fourth in Division III-A, Laguna Hills fifth in III-AA.

University 57, Laguna Beach 32--Jerri Armendariz had 18 points and four three-pointers and Monique Mathews had 17 points and 10 rebounds for visiting University (14-8, 5-2). April Chambers scored 12 points for Laguna Beach (7-12, 1-6).
