Police Reopen Facility in West End of City

As part of its fight against prostitution, narcotic sales and gang activity in west Anaheim, the city has reopened its Police Community Resource Center in that area.
Serving as a base for community policing and code enforcement efforts, the storefront facility is in Beach-Lin Plaza at 2960 W. Lincoln Ave., one block east of Beach Boulevard.
Police opened a resource center in July 1994 in the 2800 block of West Lincoln Avenue but had to abandon it because the building in which it was located was slated for demolition.
The new facility, staffed by civilian volunteers and two community policing officers, is expected to be in full operation within weeks.
“It’s going to give the neighbors a better sense of security,” said Officer Bob Adrian, who works out of the center with his partner, Officer Mark Yuravich. “It gives us a presence in the west end of the city.”
The 1,000-square-foot facility has a room for Neighborhood Watch gatherings and other meetings with residents, a reception area and work space for the officers.
