Mater Dei Again Falls Victim to Capistrano Valley

Capistrano Valley continued its recent domination of Mater Dei by upsetting the second-ranked Monarchs, 3-0, in a South Coast League boys’ soccer game Wednesday at Capistrano Valley High.
The unranked Cougars (5-6-4, 3-0-1), who have not lost to Mater Dei in three years, took a 1-0 lead when Devin Adams scored in the second minute.
Taylor Richmond and Brian Ramirez also scored in the first half and goalkeeper Jason McConnell had four saves for Capistrano Valley. Mater Dei fell to 13-5-1, 2-2.
In other league games:
Trabuco Hills 3, Mission Viejo 1--Mission Viejo’s Aleks Rakovich scored first, but Trabuco Hills (4-5-5, 2-0-2) answered with two goals from Sean Kelly in the first half and a second-half score by Manuel Lopez.
San Clemente 1, Dana Hills 0--Jorge Hernandez scored off Orlando Mendoza’s corner kick in the 10th minute for host San Clemente (9-6-2, 1-2-1). Dana Hills is 8-7-3, 1-2-1.
