A bespectacled bandit robbed a Bank of America branch Saturday in Newbury Park, making the heist the second of the new year in Ventura County.

The robber, described as a white man in his 30s, entered the bank at 2345 Borchard Road shortly after 11:30 a.m. After passing the teller a note demanding money and threatening to shoot, the bandit fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Although the man told the teller he had a gun, no weapon was seen, and no one was injured.

The man is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and of medium build with gray hair. He was wearing brown-rimmed glasses and a bulky beige knit sweater.
