Elks to Honor 6 From Fire, Police Agencies

Six firefighters and police officers will be honored Jan. 17 at the Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge’s 19th annual Law Enforcement and Firefighters Appreciation Night.

Plaques will be presented to recipients from each of the six police and fire agencies that serve Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and Agoura Hills.

Honorees to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the region are Firefighter Jack Nosco, Ventura County Fire Protection District; Capt. Lawrence Myers, Los Angeles County Fire Department; Sgt. Frank O’Hanlon, Ventura County Sheriff’s Department; Deputy Matthew K. Squire, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department; Officer Jack D. Raughton, Ventura Area, California Highway Patrol, and Officer Gary Greenfield, West Valley Area CHP.

Ventura County Supervisor Frank Schillo and Thousand Oaks Councilman Michael Markey will also make presentations to the winners.

A dinner, which is open to the public, will be held before the 8 p.m. awards ceremony at the lodge, 158 Conejo School Road. Cost is $6. For information, call 497-4511.
