CHICAGO — Derek Molis made two free throws with 3.1 seconds left to lift Loyola of Chicago to a 66-65 victory over Loyola Marymount on Thursday.
The Ramblers (3-5) tied the score at 64 on a Donyale Bush basket with 45 seconds remaining. Ime Oduok put the Lions (8-2) up by one by making one of two foul shots with 18 seconds on the clock. Molis then drove the baseline and was fouled.

Loyola Marymount made 10 of its first 13 shots to take a 23-21 lead, but the Ramblers rallied for a 34-29 edge by halftime.
“They had an excellent game plan,” Lion Coach John Olive said. “They neutralized our inside game and Ime Oduok’s foul trouble hurt us.”
The Lions tied the game at 36, but the Ramblers used a 15-6 run to go ahead, 51-42.
Jim Williamson’s three-point play for Loyola Marymount started a 7-1 run, allowing the Lions to grab a 64-62 lead.
Lion sophomore forward Kenny Hotopp scored a career high 16 points before leaving the game because of a sprained right ankle.
Rambler Javan Goodman had a game-high 11 rebounds.
