ORANGE COUNTY ALMANAC : The Day the Earth Roared
The 1933 Long Beach earthquake caused significant damage in Orange County.
Many homes were knocked off their foundations, and portions of downtown Garden Grove, Huntington Beach and Los Alamitos were destroyed.
Residents were so rattled that many camped in wilderness areas for a full month after the temblor.
