South Bay : Lomita Settles Suit Against Torrance
Lomita has agreed to drop its lawsuit against Torrance over the construction of a Claim Jumper restaurant at the Crossroads Shopping Center.
The city of Torrance, the owners of the shopping center and the owners of the restaurant announced Wednesday that they will pay Lomita $130,000 to help restructure and resurface a portion of Crenshaw Boulevard alongside the center. Torrance will pay $75,000 of the settlement.
“I think it’s a fair agreement,†Torrance Mayor Dee Hardison said. “I’m pleased that it’s behind us. Even through this, we still are good friends.â€
