Northridge Stumbles Again
PROVO, Utah — Cal State Northridge gave up at least 50 second-half points for the fourth time in six games, and the Matadors lost, 95-90, to Stephen F. Austin in the consolation game of the Brigham Young tournament before a crowd of 3,500 on Saturday night.
Northridge (1-5) trailed, 41-40, at halftime, but Stephen F. Austin (4-2) dominated the Matadors inside in the second half and took a 16-point lead. The Matadors made the score respectable when Josh Willis hit three three-point shots in the final 34 seconds.
Damion Morbley led Northridge with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Willis scored 20 points.
BYU beat Louisiana Tech in the championship game, 74-64.
