One Sweet Week

Mariah Carey’s name pops up all over the charts this week. The pop singer’s “Daydream� album is No. 2 on The Times’ Southern California album chart and tops the national R&B; chart. Two songs from the album, “One Sweet Day� and “Fantasy,� are among the nation’s Top 10 singles, and her year-old “Merry Christmas� album has jumped back onto the local R&B; album chart. Meanwhile, Mannheim Steamroller continues a holiday tradition with its “Christmas in the Aire� album, which is No. 5 on the local album chart and No. 4 on the national chart. Its previous two Christmas albums have each sold 5 million copies.
