Rookie Randolph Childress, in his first extensive playing time, made four of six three-point shots Sunday night as the Portland Trail Blazers handed the Orlando Magic their second loss in as many nights, 93-82, at Portland, Ore.

The Blazers had a 67-31 advantage in rebounds but still trailed much of the game until they used a 15-0 run to take an 84-71 lead on Clifford Robinson’s 15-footer with 6:46 left.

Childress, who had averaged only seven minutes per game and shot 27% from the field in the first 15 games, got his chance against Orlando when Rod Strickland got in foul trouble.

Childress played eight minutes and made two three-point shots in the second quarter.

Strickland went to the bench with his fourth foul with 6:43 left in the third quarter. Childress then came back and played the rest of the way.

Cleveland 108, Dallas 107--Chris Mills scored all 22 of his points after halftime, sending the game into overtime by making a last-minute three-point shot at Cleveland.

Mills made the basket with 9.9 seconds left in regulation, tying the score at 103. He also got the last rebound of overtime, helping Cleveland to its fifth victory in six games.

It was the Knicks’ 15th consecutive victory over the Bullets, who have lost four of five overall.

Charles Oakley had 16 points and 16 rebounds for the Knicks, who have won seven of nine.

Milwaukee 109, Vancouver 95--The Grizzlies, drawing closer to the record for consecutive defeats in a season, lost their 15th game in a row.

The expansion team opened the season with two victories, but is now approaching the record of 20 consecutive losses set by Philadelphia (1973) and Dallas (1993).

Vin Baker paced the Bucks at Vancouver, scoring 12 of his 27 points in the third quarter and finishing with 15 rebounds. Glenn Robinson had 22 points.

Miami 112, Toronto 94--Alonzo Mourning scored nine points for the Heat during a 13-point fourth-quarter run at Toronto.

Mourning, 12 for 12 from the free-throw line, was perfect in a 13-point first half, making all four shots and all five free-throw attempts. He was held scoreless in the third quarter but scored 15 points to help Miami pull away in the fourth.
